Jarrett Elam Receives Life-Saving Award!

My daughter-in-law Sue's son, 18 year old Jarrett Elam, saved a man's life this year at the Midlothian YMCA where he is a lifeguard. The man had a heart attack; Jarrett knew what to do and applied CPR until the rescue squad arrived. What a lifelong unforgetable experience this will be for Jarrett, who is a senior at James River High School.

Jarrett also happens to be a volunteer with Fire Station 20, located on Courthouse Road in Chesterfield County. He is considering becoming a career firefighter.

Along with other citizens, professionals and volunteers, Jarrett received an award for being a hero at a special ceremony for Chesterfield County Fire and EMS and presented by Fire Chief, Paul Maugill.

Jarrett is another of my step-grandsons I am proud of.
