Her Master's Voice

Jimmy said: "Ashley, I have a project for you!" And that's how it began. Jimmy had this brilliant idea that he needed a three-dimensional creation symbolizing our Fatcat Music Shop at the Flea Depot. Since none of the world-renowned Richmond craftsmen or artists were available at such short notice, Jimmy turned to the one Allen who could turn his dreams into reality. Of course, that was Miss Ashley, the Plantation's own resident Princess!

Needless to say, Miss Ashley immediately responded, "Your wish is my command!" Actually, Miss Ashley was bored out of her gourd that day, so Jimmy's request caused her to leap to her feet in anticipation!

"Here is what I want," said Jimmy, as he showed her a picture of the old RCA record symbol of "His Master's Voice"... that's the one of the dog listening to the old victrola with the huge sound horn. But Jimmy wanted Ashley to create a large Blackie-cat to replace the dog. "No problem," said Ashley, grateful that she would have something interesting to do for the next few days.

Miss Ashley immediately set out for the store to buy up all the materials she would need for this fantastic project. When she returned to the Plantation, she had bags full of goodies. We looked at her supplies and just shook our heads. How could this conglomeration of stuff end up as anything??

Well, we had underestimated our Miss Ashley! She's not a princess for nothing! Off she strode to her studio (bedroom), locked herself in and ordered no one to bother her because she had important work to do!

And in due time, a wonderful creation was delivered to her Uncle Jimmy, amid the oooooohs and aaaaaaahs of all her subjects. A true miracle had occurred; Miss Ashley had turned that conglomeration of stuff into the stupendously glorious black cat with the googly eyes turning the record on the old victrola with the big horn!

As you can see, this amusing creation now welcomes all the potential record buyers and fatcat aficionados into our flea market shop!
