Liz's Rollercoaster!

The grandkids have been here with us for the past 2 weeks now and the plans are for them to stay for another 2 weeks! This is a treat since we had only expected them to be here for a couple of weeks this summer. I know they are happy to be with us too; especially since we probably won't see them again until Christmas.

David Proffitt was kind enough to bring the kids here from Illinois since he was picking up his son, Chris, to stay with him for several weeks also. Anyway, our normally quiet staid household finally has some life in it! Schedules have been thrown out the window for the duration and activities that haven't been usual around here, have taken their place! The reason? We don't have little children around here anymore; we have a young man and two young women living at our house this summer! Liz, Ashley and Billy have grown up!

When Liz came in the door, she announced that she was going to build a rollercoaster with our old Knex. Well, that she did. For the first few days there was furious activity in the family room as she clicked and clacked the pieces together. Soon there was a huge rollercoaster spread over the floor with a working car that looped the loop and skidded around the curves. What a wonderful contraption. Nobody wants to take it apart yet, so it has been relegated to a space behind the fake sofa.

And Liz's performance wasn't the last to be seen at the Allen house. Ashley and Billy have gotten into the creative mode also. You will see their workmanship in the next few articles!
