Once upon a time...

I was talking to David this afternoon. He was telling me how much he enjoyed listening to reminiscences of my childhood the other day while we were waiting to get his meds at the MCV pharmacy. We had started talking about this and that and before we knew it, the conversation had ranged from Oma and Opa to Aunt Betty and Uncle Freddie to Dad and me. Time passed quickly and soon the meds were ready.

Anyhow, David wondered why I never spoke about all these people. Huh? I had never thought of it that way. David said maybe I should do like we did for Nannie. Many years ago, I had sat down and asked Nannie questions about her childhood - I think I even taped some of the sessions. Who knows where the tapes are. Maybe Jean has them; or maybe they are lost in some closet of mine.

I have a better idea! Maybe I will use my blog to talk about the things I remember. I need your help though. How about commenting with some suggestions about things you want to know about.

It might to be of interest to any of ya'll who like family history. :)

I would like to know how you managed to produce a son who could wait 39 years before finding the woman of his dreams.

I'll concede to the serindipitous combination of genetic material that created the ever so cute Ricky. However, by advancing this argument it would appear that you have tendered a, dare I say, capricious mental rumination in that were it not for some faulty observation on my part, brought about by various emotional or chemical influences thus creating variables that would adequately explain said Ricky's ever so cute-ness, he would not be ever so cute?
